What is tear ?

Tears are very important for a healthy eye and sight. It consists of 3 layers Lipid, Aquatic and Musin. Each layer has separate tasks and is produced in separate places and released to the surface of the eye. The production sites are the main lacrimal gland, accessory lacrimal glands, meibomian glands and goblet cells.

Tasks of the tear layer:

It creates a smooth surface for a clear view,

Keep the eye moist and prevent drying,

Provides protection against infections.

What are the signs of DRY EYE ?

Foreign body sensation in the eye, burning-burning, redness, blurred vision are the most common symptoms.
